Public bug reported:

My Sony Vaio VGN-FE48E running Gutsy doesn't suspend to RAM or
hibernate. In both cases, the screen blanks out, and a usb mouse I've
got attached to the system powers down. However, I can't get it to wake
up. What's interesting is that in both cases, Linux definitely remains
active, as I can use the sysrq combination to reboot.

I am also using the Nvidia drivers 100.14.19 (installed with restricted
manager), and ipw3945.

Also, my father has a very similar laptop, Sony Vaio VGN-FE41E whose
suspend worked with Feisty and failed to work at all with Gutsy, giving
much the same symptoms as mine. Gutsy is no longer installed on that
laptop as of 2 days ago, however I believe the hardware is almost 100%
identical between the two.
