FYI, the interface is now designed and I'll be working on the
implementation now. This design solve's Robert's immediate problem (this
bug) but also KDE's desire for snap interactions via DBus as well as
providing a foundation for future improvements for interface
implementations.
Using Robert's snap as an example, he would use in his snapcraft.yaml:
name: gnome-mahjongg
slots:
mahjongg:
interface: dbus
bus=session
name=org.gnome.gnome-mahjongg
