Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon Tribe 5 and Beta can be installed in a MSI P965 Intel
Chipset Based motherboard, but after 2 or 3 tries.. After, when you try to
start Ubuntu, it hardly ever starts.. You have to reset your computer many
times. The problem is "can't access tty; job controll of (error_mask 0x40)" if
I remember well.
Now the problem is worse when I go to Release Candidate Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon
cannot be installed!! The installation although can start if I press F6 (boot
script) and write in the begining of the line "break=top" or "bootexecute=exit"
after that, Ubuntu reports 3 errors but the installation starts. The problem is
that when I have to choose a partition of my disks, Ubuntu doesn't recognise my
hard disks!!! I had the same problem with Fedora 7, but I could change the
sata contol and put my first hard disk to the JMicron Controller, and then it
was ok. The weird thing is that I didn't have to do that never with Ubuntu.
