@Rolf - thanks for mentioning iptraf-ng. It's working fine here on Xenial 64 bit. IMHO in scenarios such as these where a 'mother' package becomes obsolete and is replaced by an '-ng' version, the old package should be shipping with a warning upon installation that it's deprecated and should be replaced with the new version.
