This also affects trusty and makes it impossible for some users to transfer files over usb on newer phones. Just patching in the upstream commit that apparently fixes this (4a9e6046319ad834b924031d74f50e58b88d7d84) seems to work fine. It applies cleanly, builds cleanly, and appears to work. If I provide a debdiff for that is that the kind of thing we could bring to trusty- updates?
