Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-rt

A few days ago (I don't remember exactly when), after a few kernel
updates on Gutsy, suddenly the nvidia driver stopped working under the
linux-rt kernel. Before this update, everything had worked fine. When I
now boot with the rt-kernel, Ubuntu starts in the safe-graphics mode (or
something like that), falling back on the vesa driver.

Two points:
1. Most important: why doesn't the nvidia driver work with the rt-kernel? It
should.
2. And IF Ubuntu really for some reason can't initialize the nvidia driver, it
should fall back on the opensource nv driver, not on the vesa driver.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
