With Compiz / Nvidia-New on Nvidia Go 7200 laptop there are severe lagging in
the GUI. Apparently processes such as downloading continues to run. When
activating Compiz Normal the lagging increases and even more so with Compiz
Extra. When activating Compiz-config thus using more plugins the screen freezes
completly and/or turns black.
I do not know whether this problem resides within Xorg, Nvidia-New or
Compiz. I have noted that the problem appears to increase when e.g using
synaptic and Firefox at the same time. However, I experience this with
all the other browsers too.
I have experienced this with the latest tribe, the Beta and the RC.
On the Beta I tried to install the "old" 9xxx Nvidiadriver, but it
messed up my installation thus I haven't testet RC with the good old
driver to rule out the Nvidia-new from the equation.
Although I seem to recognise many of the proposed alternatives for
existing bugs none of the proposals are exact.
I'm pretty sure though that this would be a duplicate.
