@psusi thanks for responding. Unfortunately, negative on that. It's true that I had a network drop then, but I kept trying (with or without updates checked) dozens of times. Grub2 fails to install no matter what. I bypassed the bootloader requirement by installing rEFInd and loading vmLinuz image at boot, but didn't manage to get past this grub package bug.
