I have retested the link feature just now and everything works fine.  It
might have been a file-association issue that was fixed in the meantime.
I apologize if I was at fault.

However, I would suggest you add in PCManFM's right-click context menu
an option to "Create desktop shortcut" as the CTRL-SHIFT-DRAG feature is
not well known among regular users (non-geeks).  It would make PCManFM
more user friendly for newbies... one less frustration in switching over
from Windows.
