Public bug reported:
Ubuntu Trusty ships silversearcher-ag 0.19.2-1 that silently fails to
search in files larger than 2 GiB: it exits with code 0 with no output.
This is unexpected and confusing. The first version that works properly
with such files is 0.23.0 (starting with
https://github.com/ggreer/the_silver_searcher/commit/8455b7b6b82d3405a29d8383de186a62720c1d1a).
Could the Trusty package be updated to a more recent version to support
searching in large files?
