I have now also attempted to install them by downloading the linux-image and linux-image-extra and opening them with GDebi, to install them. The results were the same. When rebooting into the 4.8.0-30 kernel, the wireless device is not installed or recognized. This prevents me from accessing the Internet or any networks on this system. When I have upgraded the kernels in the 4.4 series, the install goes smoothly and updates the broadcom module as expected.
