I am running 16.10 with budgie installed. Installing unity8 gave me the crashing apps issue. Tried to : sudo systemctl enable cgmanager (it was already running) sudo apt-get install libpam-cgfs it was already installed and sudo apt-get install libpam-cgm that was not installed.
