I can confirm this on an up-to-date Gutsy (as of 10/13). I didn't see this bug and submitted #152443 for the same problem It happens on every 2nd character typed (or deleted), as long as it finds results and the widget pops up. Otherwise you can continue typing and it never loses focus.
