Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 and after switching from
Xorg to Wayland via the login screen I have found that when launched,
supertux2 will flash either every few seconds or each flash could even
be less than a second in time from the previous flash. This is highly
annoying as it makes it rather hard to play the game when the window
contents is flashing the whole time.

This is the output in Terminal that I get from the program:

    Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory
    Cannot connect to server request channel
    jack server is not running or cannot be started
    JackShmReadWritePtr::~JackShmReadWritePtr - Init not done for 4294967295,
skipping unlock
    JackShmReadWritePtr::~JackShmReadWritePtr - Init not done for 4294967295,
skipping unlock
    AL lib: (WW) ALCjackBackendFactory_init: jack_client_open() failed, 0x11
    AL lib: (WW) alc_initconfig: Failed to initialize backend "jack"
