Since this bug affects Unity and Gnome sessions but not KDE sessions it is not a fault in Warzone itself. Therefore I am changing the classification of the issue to Unity.

The issue came sometimes by overcome by switching to a different VT and then switching back. I have been playing Warzone on Ubuntu for years using all versions up to - the upstream 3.2.1 without any problems. This problem started with + the upstream 3.2.2 without any problems. This problem started with Ubuntu 16.10 I have replicated this problem on a clean download of Ubuntu 16.10 using the 3.1.1 version of Warzone from the software repository.
