The install crashed because your EFI system partition is corrupt.  You
might check with mdadm or dmraid, but it sounds like you may have some
sort of new fake raid setup that is not compatible with linux.  I would
suggest you stop using it as they often do not have a test method to
verify that they are in fact, still correctly mirrored, and as a result,
tend to become corrupted, especially if you use them incorrectly with
linux.
