I encoutered the same issue with my Lenovo IdeaPad S205.

I've tried several kernels, including latest mainline 4.10 rc2, but no
lack - just black screen on wake up.

But I have noticed that the laptop resumes sucessfully from sleep when
the power plug has been removed just before pressing a key to wake it up
(i.e. It resumes succesfully when powered from battery only).

Hope it helps to fix that annoyance.

If someone needs my log files or hardware reports, please let me know.
