Public bug reported: The following command never terminates:
gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=test.pdf -f test.ps This is more or less what ps2pdf test.ps does. I have obtained this test case from an old debian bug report at the URL below, as I have originally encountered the problem with a *much larger* postscript file (214MB), which I've left running for 24 hours with no progress. I have attached both files. Both files (the small one and the large one) get read by gv and displayed perfectly on screen. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=786827 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: ghostscript 9.19~dfsg+1-0ubuntu6.3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-32.34-lowlatency 4.8.11 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-32-lowlatency x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: X-Cinnamon Date: Tue Jan 3 20:48:44 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-10-20 (74 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.10 "Yakkety Yak" - Release amd64 (20161012.2) SourcePackage: ghostscript UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ghostscript (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug yakkety -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653787 Title: gs does not terminate and does not produce output when writing with pdfwrite To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghostscript/+bug/1653787/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
