in konqueror (german) contextmenu
choose
Aktionen > Terminal öffnen
(action>shell)
in this shell type
>locale
and see that it is not my system standard locale
this shell does not behave like the regular shell.
this has bothered me for a while causing strange locale errors in other
software depending on how i started my shell.
