Public bug reported:
After filling all the information out in subiquity, there is the
'Installing system' page which says 'Please wait for the installation to
finish' and then shows the output of curtin.
- initially, it is not obvious that this is output from curtin. this is
basically indistinguishable from an error message (which I've seen a couple of
in earlier install attempts), unless you read the whole thing and notice that
nowhere does it say 'fail' or 'error'. And the first steps take a little
while, so the output appears static. There should be clearer UI hints that the
text below is a log, not an error message blatted to the screen.
- there are always exactly 5 lines of output shown. The window where the text
is displayed for me here is more than 5 physical lines high; sometimes the 5
logical lines being displayed take up the full window due to wrapping,
sometimes they are shorter and take up less vertical space. The log output
should make maximal use of the space.
- there is no way to scroll back through the log in the UI, which seems pretty
fundamental.
