I am not sure if the question was directed at me, but in case it was, I will explain my situation:
When the upgrade to 16.06 was available for Ubuntu (I currently have 14.04), I tried to upgrade a few times. However, I kept getting the following error: Could not calculate the upgrade An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade. This can be caused by: * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. When I reported it to Ubuntu, I encountered other error reports with the exact same description. They indicated that the error was due to some conflict with the ros-indigo package. I do have this package, too. So this may fall into the third category above: "Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu". However, I don't know why the conflict arises. Since I need ros-indigo for certain projects, I never tried to uninstall it and upgrade. I am sorry for the limited information I have. Unfortunately, this is all I know about the error.
