Public bug reported:

The virtual output addition doesn't work to play the sound through both
HDMI and audio jack.

Instructions to reproduce: http://askubuntu.com/questions/78174/play-
sound-through-two-or-more-outputs-devices

Result: It only plays through the last selected device (for example if I
switch from 3.5mm to "Combined" then it plays through 3.5 only, if I
switch from HDMI to "Combined", then it plays only through HDMI. In
addition the sound sounds a bit different (sort of like mono or
something).

OS: Ubuntu 16.10
