Happened while upgrading mysql-server to version 5.7.17-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
over 5.7.16-0ubuntu0.16.04.1. The issue seems to be on the upgrade
script, my mysql server instance is not running and apparently it
expects to be running as per this message:

Then I tried to
$ sudo apt install -f

Same error appears. Then I tried to start mysql-server whit:
$ sudo systemctl restart mysql.service
And try again upgrade:
$ sudo apt install -f
Same error
The file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock exists after restarting the server
and I'm able to connect to the database from mysql client.
