I have been using Nautilus for several hours today. I just tried to
start it then, and it wouldn't start.
1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System

When I click on the "Files" icon in the Unity launcher, Nautilus starts

When I click on the "Files" icon in the Unity launcher, the icon flashes
for about 30 seconds, then stops flashing without Nautilus starting
