Thanks for reporting. I see that the latest packaged version in Zesty atm is 1:2.6.1+dfsg- 0ubuntu9. The 0ubuntu part of the version number implies that it was packaged directly in Ubuntu, so there might be changes done on both the Ubuntu and Debian side when packaging this. Likely this will require a merge of the newer Debian packaging to ensure that any required Ubuntu- specific changes are still included (though this is just an educated guess).
