We're also hitting it more often then not on several up to date 14.04.5 systems. (AWS c4.large instances running python scripts via supervisor.)
About 1 OOM event in 3 fires successfully, kills the process and continues on. For the others, the console indicates an OOM kill but cpu/disk spikes and it becomes completely unresponsive. (Nothing is logged to disk.)
