To clarify, the logs attached show the system running out of memory while processing the pam configuration during the upgrade. This occurred after the system was booted for two days, so you may have gotten the apport crash report after reboot, but the problem didn't occur during boot and was caused by your system running out of memory in the middle of the upgrade.
