Hi,
you are right that is a lack of a dependency on bsdutils which provides logger
and usually (e.g. not ubuntu-minimal) is around anyway. It is part of the deps
of lsb-core which almost always is around.
I happened to find that this is only valid on trusty (the relevant
section of the postinst is dropped in later versions).
