dualshock3nerd's solution also works for me. It may also be worth noting that the appearance of the bubble is often accompanied by a slight, but noticeable gap in audio playback, which sounds like a click. (I can tune out the bubble, but the click demands attention!) Seems like the problem is pretty well understood at this point, though, so I won't post any logs unless requested.
