I can't duplicate this bug with the test cases you provided in Ubuntu
14.04 LTS or 16.04 LTS or 17.04 Alpha.
If 12.04 LTS is affected, 12.04 will be unsupported in about 2 months
and this bug isn't important enough to try to fix there now.
Therefore, I am closing this bug.
