You appear to be trying to install to a fake raid. You need to choose
to install grub to the fake raid ( /dev/mapper/ddf1_RaidHD ) rather than
an individual disk ( /dev/sda ). Also I would recommend against using
fake raid unless you must dual boot with Windows, as fake raids are not
well supported and are error prone. You also are trying to install a
release that is almost 5 years old and end of life. You should use16.04
instead.
