Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I uploaded a newer autofs to Zesty yesterday. This restores the systemd service, which was previously being replaced by an upstart job. On 16.04, I suspect (but haven't checked) that this caused a fallback to the init.d script. So on Zesty, behaviour may have changed in relation to this bug. I'm not really sure how to address the issue you're facing, but we appreciate the report. Suggestions on how to do this properly welcome (I see some in bug 1588915?) ** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1614282 Title: autofs does not recover from failure to read maps on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/1614282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
