I can make d-i do this, but I'm a little uncomfortable with having d-i
create files on the target system not owned by any package (we've been
trying to get away from this). Would upstart be able to own
/etc/event.d/ttyS* - that is, remove any such files on purge?

Also, perhaps upstart could ship a template somewhere so that d-i
doesn't have to know too much about upstart's configuration syntax,
which will presumably change.
