This happens from time to time on my Ubuntu Gnome 16.10 install. Most of
the time, things will behave normally but once in a while, the Alt key
shortcuts will do all kinds of crazy stuff with the TTYs (not only
Alt+Left/Right but also Alt+F1~7)

I have no idea what causes this behavior but it has happened 3 times on
the same Dell laptop. My main desktop PC (Gnome Shell installed on top
of a regular Ubuntu install) has never had this issue.

** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
