Public bug reported:

When scanbd is running, other sane frontends cannot access my scanner.
There is no documentation leading me to expect this, and no suggested
workaround.

Expected behaviour: the default install should provide a straightforward
path to modifying the sane installation to use scanbm, as described in
the arch HOWTO.
