Public bug reported: When scanbd is running, other sane frontends cannot access my scanner. There is no documentation leading me to expect this, and no suggested workaround.
Expected behaviour: the default install should provide a straightforward path to modifying the sane installation to use scanbm, as described in the arch HOWTO. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Scanner_Button_Daemon ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.10 Package: scanbd 1.4.4-1build1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-22.24-generic 4.8.0 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.3-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Tue Feb 21 12:11:34 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-12-13 (436 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Release amd64 (20151021) SourcePackage: scanbd UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to yakkety on 2017-01-09 (43 days ago) ** Affects: scanbd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug yakkety -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1666665 Title: scanbd blocks all sane access to scanner device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/scanbd/+bug/1666665/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
