Please note that (I think) the upgrade is failing because it's attempting to upgrade to Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic) which is a no longer supported release. This is due to the configuration file for update- manager being set to:
Prompt=normal Adjust this to Prompt=lts to get update-manager to upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial).
