Public bug reported:
-- Problem Description --
Some Power machines has limitations regarding INTx/Level-signaled interrupts in
some slots. The kernel will present currently the following message in dmesg:
"pci 0003:70:00.0: of_irq_parse_pci() failed with rc=-22"
This is an imprecise, and kind of "misleading" message. The following
patch improved the way this information is showed to user:
f1aa54840657 ("of/irq: improve error report on irq discovery process failure")
[https://git.kernel.org/torvalds/c/f1aa5484]
With the patch, messages will show like:
"pci 0003:70:00.0: no interrupt-map found, INTx interrupts not available"
"pci 0003:70:00.0: possibly some PCI slots don't have level triggered
interrupts capability" (<= this one shows only once, regardless the number of
slot without LSI)
--
So, we want to request Canonical to include the above patch on kernel 4.10, to
Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty), if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Guilherme
