I had the same problem in Xubuntu Gutsy with Intel HDA integrated sound card.
I managed to ifx it with the steps from ubuntu forum thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=268652 Namely: # sudo alsactl names # sudo alsactl store # sudo reboot # After reboot run alsamixer and make sure you have 'Mic' and 'Capture' sliders marked selected as CAPTURE ... to do this with space bar and then then unmute all recording to 100%. # now the slider should stay at the position it was set to. I remember to have the same problem with Edgy and to have solved it the same way. It may not work for all soundcards, though. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Confirmed -- Xubuntu Volume Control - Capture slider not working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133223 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
