I experienced the sample problem and found that it is caused by difference in wvdial output format between 7.04 and 7.10.
On Ubuntu 7.04, wvdial generates console output starts with '-->' such as below example. --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.56 --> Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory --> Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory --> Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory However, the output format seems to be changed in Ubuntu 7.10. WvDial<*1>: WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.56 WvDial<Err>: Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory WvDial<Err>: Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory WvDial<Err>: Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0: No such file or directory Unfortunately, gnome-ppp expects response string starts with '-->' and some functions seem to broken with new format. -- Gnome-PPP will not dock or minimize https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
