Can you get this to occur on Gutsy-final? If so, please attach the
output of `sudo lspci -vvnn` and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log. If possible,
a photo of the screen might also be of use.
I've not seen this behavior myself, but it might be a hardware-specific
issue.
