ubuntu 17.04 unity8
launching apps while in spread is a bit messy
enter spread (app switcher) with the mouse (bang the mouse to the right side of
the screen) and let it there, don't move the mouse
now press Super 2, 3 etc to open more apps
you'll get broken previews and weird positions see screenshot
you can't exit the spread until you move the mouse
