Public bug reported:

I've tried installing Ubuntu 16.04.2 on an HP Desktop, the specs are:

Intel CELERON CPU @ 2.26ghz
4GB Ram
250Gb SATA HDD

When it gets to the "Running 'grub-install/dev/sda'..." part of the
install, it hangs and then returns an error:

Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sda
Executing 'grub-install/dev/sda' failed.
This is a fatal error.

I have to close without it proposes to me of solution except a report of
bug
