(there is no visible output for any of the non-functional hotkeys)

If I modify /etc/default/grub to:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=! acpi_osi="Windows 2015""
I cannot update GRUB any more:
sudo update-grub
[sudo] my password: 
/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 11: /etc/default/grub: 2015: not found
