Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xrandr

My Gutsy has numerous problems with xrandr. To begin with, after logging
into GNOME, the screen rotates to the left. I had to add "xrandr -o
normal" to the session to get a normal screen.

If I try to rotate the screen with "xrandr -o left" later, it sometimes
just does not work. Here is a terminal output:

xrandr -o left --verbose
 SZ: Pixels Physical Refresh
*0 1400 x 1050 ( 413mm x 310mm ) *50 56 57
 1 1280 x 1024 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 51
 2 1280 x 960 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 52 58
 3 1024 x 768 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 53
 4 800 x 600 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 54
 5 640 x 480 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 55 61
 6 1280 x 800 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 59
 7 1280 x 768 ( 413mm x 310mm ) 60
Current rotation - normal
Current reflection - none
Rotations possible - normal left inverted right
Reflections possible - none
Setting size to 0, rotation to left
Setting reflection on neither axis

So xrandr claims to set the rotation, but it doesn't happen. But i also
experience no crash as in bug # 104742.
I am using a Nvidia GeForce FX5200 and the propietary nvidia driver. This bug
is not always reproducible, sometimes things work just fine.
