Similar behavior on a Dell Latitude 5470 w/ Intel/AMD Dual graphics with Mint 18.1. Suspend didn't work with the standard kernel (Display dark, total freeze) but 4.5.2 helped. However Plugging in or out the VGA Cable makes it freeze.
Yesterday updated to Kernel 4.8.0-42-generic x86_64 but still freezes when (un-)plugging VGA. A tail on syslog with a kerlen Oops (via ssh before it died) is attached together with output of "inxi -Fxz" ** Attachment added: "kernel oops and inxi output" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1559308/+attachment/4844045/+files/dell_kernel_freeze_ubu.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1559308 Title: Plugging HDMI screen in causes system hang To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1559308/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
