Public bug reported:

i have installed the rc of ubuntu gutsy and after following all instructions of 
restricted driver manager,and installing the firmware wlapsta i got working my 
wireless card  broadcom bcm94311mcg and i installed all upgrades. the bad thing 
is that the wireless card works only near to the access point if i get far away 
i can't connect. if i type "sudo iwlist scan" i see my network but i can't 
connect.
the laptop is acer 5613zwlmi and wireless card bcm94311 

ps on ubuntu feisty this card worked ok with ndiswrapper. anyway the
name of the card was broadcom 1390
