Hi dino99, Thanks for the advice :-) I tried setting the LibreOffice settings as you suggested followed by a reboot (just to be sure!) the ran LibOffice calc. So far, no instances of the error and greping the /var/log/syslog shows no similar errors.
I still want to monitor the issue for a bit longer as it may be that I have just not caught the freeze yet. I am also a little sceptical since I still had the freeze previously after having shut down LibreOffice.
