Further investigation revealed, that on Dec, 2016 this issue has been
solved in iPXE, so the iso image can be used as an alternative to the
host provided ipxe-qemu based network boot.

That means, that with the increased net-queue size, there is no need to
change the virtio network device model in order to use PXE booting.
