Hi,
unfortunately the automatically attached logs do not contain any info that
helps me to spot the root cause.

I see you already tried all sort of "apt-get install -f" "purge" and mroe
install.
Never the less what you (or others trying to help) will need is to spot the
actual issue when setting this up.

If I've read the og right this started by an update to your system.
In there I've seen most php packages being bumped to 7.0.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.4
and php-xml to 1:7.0+35ubuntu6 but that is ok, those are the most recent
versions.
Unfortunately when trying to recreate this it didn't happen to me.

Now I only see the dependencies and failing to set up the packages.
One would need the actual fail to set them up.

If you go back as you did and purge all php things and then just install e.g.
"apt-get install php" is the error then any different?
Is it showing in the log anything that might point to the actual issue we might
help to solve?

For now I can't help much - sorry - setting to incomplete until further
info was provided.
