Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
When running the update manager to install new versions of packages or a
new version of the distribution, conflicts between configuration files
are shown to the user in a GUI and the user has to decide whether to
keep the old version or use the new version.
For this, it is possible to show the differences, but this is shown in native
diff-output format and thus extremely hard to read, especially for
unexperienced users.
When update manager is running in graphical mode, this should be shown in
side-by side format that shows the differences in a more user friendly way,
e.g. similar to the output of kdiff3 or the version comparison features in
eclipse or netbeans.
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
